1.4003DIN X2CrNi12 – AISI 410S – UNS S40977

Stainless steel 1.4003 is a chromium and nickel added low carbon alloy that provides excellent resistance in corrosive and corrosive environments, high mechanical strength and good weldability. All these qualities, aligned with one of the lowest costs in the chain of special steels, make stainless 1.4003 an excellent choice to replace materials used in structural applications such as carbon, galvanized or aluminized steels. 1.4003 has a ferritic structure and can be folded, cut, formed and welded using standard procedures applied to stainless steels.

1.4003 can be applied in various industrial segments, especially in place of carbon steels with a thickness reduction of up to 50%. In the transport sector, 1.4003 can be applied to wagons, trucks and buses. Sugarcane mills have applied this steel in equipment for receiving and transporting sugarcane, diffusers, evaporators, boilers, chimneys and scrubbers. Other applications include mineral processing, water treatment, distillation columns in the oil industry, grain silos and industrial floors.
