W. Nr. 1.4845 / AISI 310 / UNS S31000 is an austenitic stainless steel typically used in high temperature applications. With its high chromium and nickel content, it provides a similar but superior corrosion resistance to AISI 304. Recommended source material is AISI 310.
AISI 310 is one of the most heat and high temperature resistant materials among stainless steels. It can withstand even a temperature of about 1100 degrees Celsius in continuous use. The internal structure of a material that will operate at such high temperatures should be quite homogeneous. Homogeneous distribution has a very important effect on the corrosion resistance of the material.
Basically, there are three different versions according to the amount of carbon they contain. These; It is AISI 310, 310S and 310H.
- AISI 310 C < 0.250%
- AISI 310S C < 0.080%
- AISI 310H 0.040 % < C < 0.100 %
As the amount of carbon increases, the corrosion resistance of the material decreases and its weldability decreases.
