1.4547 / X1CrNiMoCuN20-18-7 / UNS S31254 is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with extremely high nickel, chromium and molybdenum content.
This material contains very high molybdenum and is highly resistant to corrosion thanks to this molybdenum it contains. It is produced for use in harsh environments such as sea water. 1.4547 is particularly resistant to halogen-containing environments such as hydrochloric acid and contaminated sulfuric acid. It has better corrosion resistance and mechanical strength than many standard stainless steels. It is extremely resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion.
1.4547 is generally antimagnetic, but as with many stainless materials, some magnetization may occur after cold working or welding. It is especially preferred where high corrosion resistance is required. 1.4547 material is a special alloy that is widely used in parts working in salt water, in facilities where food and chemical processes are applied, parts in contact with cellulose, sulfur filter and sulfur cleaning parts, oil and gas production platforms, brine treatment plants.
