1.4501 / DIN X2CrNiMoCuWN25-7-4 – UNS S32760 – F55
Super Duplex 1.4501 (UNS S32760) is among the most common super duplex grade on the market. UNS S32760 is a duplex stainless steel specially designed for service in aggressive chloride-containing environments and has the addition of W and Cu compared to UNS S32750. It has a very good resistance to local corrosion and stress corrosion cracking along with high mechanical strength.
The main application of 1.4501 is for details with special requirements for high corrosion resistance.
1.4501 (UNS S32760) is defined as:
• High resistance to stress corrosion cracking in halide-containing environments.
• High resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
• High resistance to general corrosion.
• High mechanical strength.
• High resistance to erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue.
1.4501 is widely used in oil and natural gas, hydropower, pressure vessels, pulp and paper, structural components and chemical tankers. Heat treatment is solution annealing at 1100 ° C followed by quenching. Weldability is very good.
