The main application areas of 1.4507 are components that are in high demand in the defense, oil and natural gas, pulp and paper industry as well as chemical and flue gas applications. The maximum continuous operating temperature should not exceed 250 ° C.

It is austenitic ferritic super duplex stainless steel with a higher amount of copper to increase corrosion resistance, high strength and excellent wear resistance. 1.4507 has excellent resistance to seawater, sulfuric, nitric and phosphoric acids as well as organic and formic acids. It is less durable in reducing agents.

1.4507 is stainless steel containing 25.5% chromium, 6% nickel, with significant additions of molybdenum, copper and nitrogen. The 1.6% copper content is particularly useful in promoting optimum resistance to corrosion in acidic environments.

This high performance alloy is known for its high mechanical strength, good ductility, and outstanding corrosion resistance to marine environments.

These qualities may require you to choose a nickel-based alloy as an alternative to 300 series stainless steel, standard 22% Cr duplex steel, precipitation hardening stainless steels, and in some cases much higher cost.
