Thanks to the sulfur in its chemical composition, 1.4105 (430F) quality stainless steel shows superior workability properties compared to 430 quality stainless steel material. However, although sulfur increases the workability, it decreases the corrosion resistance of the material.
In short, it shows very good polishability, very good workability, good magnetic properties, poor weldability, low corrosion resistance, poor mechanical properties.
Its mechanical properties are similar to low carbon steels. Welding capability is lower than 430 quality stainless steels. Widely used in 430F grade stainless steel transportation vehicles, electronic equipment, food industry, food production facilities and decoration works.
With its metallic glossy surface, it is resistant to atmospheric corrosion except for very dirty (industrial) air. It does not rust in pure water that does not contain halogen-containing chlorine and mineral salts. The chemicals are resistant to dilute nitric acid and in passive state also contain less aggressive organic acids at room temperature (20ºC). It is not resistant to intergranular corrosion.
The information given in this data sheet about the condition or availability of the material is not a guarantee for its properties, it only serves as an explanation.
