2.4660 / Alloy 20 / UNS N08020 / Carpenter 20 / 20Cb-3 / Incoloy Alloy 20 / VAR® 20 / Incoloy 20 is a low carbon nickel iron chromium alloy reinforced with molybdenum and copper addition and niobium. It is highly resistant to corrosion and has good resistance to sulfuric / phosphoric / nitric acids in chloride-containing environments. Good resistance to inter-crystalline corrosion, cracking.

The 2.4660 alloy, also referred to as Alloy20 / Carpenter 20 / 20Cb-3 / Incoloy Alloy 20 / VAR® 20 / Incoloy 20, is specially designed to withstand sulfuric acid. Nickel, chromium, molybdenum and copper levels provide excellent overall corrosion resistance. The restricted carbon plus niobium stabilization allows welded fabrications to be used in corrosive environments, normally without post-weld heat treatment. At 33% nickel, Alloy 20 / Carpenter 20 / 20Cb-3 / Incoloy Alloy 20 / VAR® 20 / Incoloy 20 has practical immunity to chloride stress corrosion cracking. This alloy is often chosen to solve problems that may arise with 316L stainless.
