2.4608 (Alloy 333)
2.4608 is a high chromium-nickel-based superalloy with exceptional resistance to high temperature oxidation and carburization. The 2.4608 has an outstanding ability to withstand the repeated thermal shock of oil or water annealing. 2.4608 is one of the few materials that can withstand widely varying corrosive conditions. Upon shutdown, 2.4608 resists dew point corrosion with sulfuric acid and polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking.
It has excellent carburization and metal dusting resistance. It has excellent long-term oxidation resistance at 2200 ° F. It also has excellent thermal shock and fatigue resistance. Its resistance to chloride ion and polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking and sulfuric acid is high.
