2.4603 / Hastelloy G 30 is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum-copper alloy. With higher chromium, added cobalt and tungsten, 2.4603 shows superior corrosion resistance to most other nickel and iron-based alloys in commercial phosphoric acids and complex environments with high oxidizing acids. The resistance of the alloy to the formation of grain boundary deposits in the heat affected zone makes the alloy suitable for use in most chemical treatment applications in the welded state.

Molybdenum makes 2.4603 harder and stronger at high temperatures. This alloying element and its properties make it perfect for welding applications. These nickel alloys are easily fabricated and formed. They also exhibit good ductility and can be cold worked.

2.4603 / Hastelloy G 30 is considered a corrosion resistant alloy as it has superior resistance to various corrosive environments. 2.4603 has outstanding resistance to highly oxidizing corrosives such as oxidizing salts and reducing agents, making it an excellent alloy for applications used in moderate to severe corrosive environments.
