W. Nr. 1.3922 / Alloy 48 / Invar 48 is a soft magnetic nickel-iron alloy with about 48% Ni. It has high permeability. 1.3922 / Alloy 48 / Invar 48 shows the highest saturation induction achievable with a nickel iron alloy.
Typical applications of 1.3922 include LF power transducers, rotor and stator laminations, coils, relay parts, integrated current transformers for earth leakage circuit breakers. In addition, stepper motors, solenoid valves and shields are some other application areas of 1.3922.
After the final heat treatment 1.3922 / Alloy 48 / Invar 48 exhibits an almost isotropic, relatively fine-grained structure.
