Carbon, Silicon, Manganese, Phosphorus, Sulfur are the basic elements of 2.4420 / DIN 17745. Carbon is the most important hardening element in steel. Silicon helps strengthen power. Like manganese, silicon is used to maintain the strength of steel during steel production. Manganese important austenite stabilizing elements contribute to the formation of tissue structure and increase firmness, strength and wear resistance.

Phosphorus is a harmful element that reduces the plasticity and toughness of steel and produces cold brittleness. It can significantly increase the strength of steel and increase atmospheric corrosion stability. Content should be limited to less than 0.05%. Generally, sulfur is a harmful element that makes the hot brittleness of steel high, and the sulfur content is below 0.05%.

The yield strength is the yield limit of 2.4420 when yield occurs. The external force, which is greater than the yield strength, will ensure that the 2.4420 parts will fail permanently and cannot recover. Pieces less than this will revert to their original shape.

Tensile strength is the critical value of the transition from homogeneous plastic deformation to locally concentrated plastic deformation. It is also the maximum load carrying capacity of 2.4420 under static stress. Tensile strength is the resistance that characterizes the maximum homogeneous plastic deformation of 2.4420. The deformation of the tensile specimens is equal before carrying the maximum tensile stress. But beyond that, the material begins to deform longitudinally.
